Lou Lovejoy harvests crops for CSA distribution in late June.

Thank you for your interest in our CSA. Welcome back to our previous members! The 2010 season is the 19th on our farm here in Tunbridge. We have really been enjoying the CSA model. Basically, we see it as a way for folks to get quality organic vegetables for a cost that you could call wholesale. For the farmer, it is a great way to provide produce without a lot of the busy work of wholesaling. If you are looking into a csa then you are probably already informed about the benefits of eating fresh and local.

We have one-size share, which we say is scaled to an older couple who is non-vegetarian that enjoys eating fresh vegetable each day. Everyone has different eating habits, we are happy to answer any questions how many shares would may be appropriate for you. Some folks like to have lots of veggies and freeze the surplus.

A share price for the 2010 season is $305 for 20 weeks (please consider adding an extra $5-10 for our Farm Share program). The pickup day in Tunbridge is Monday afternoon. The first week is June 7th. The delivery day in Woodstock is Wednesday at the Market on the Green (3 to 6 p.m.). There is a $40.00 delivery-packing fee/family for the Woodstock run. If a person orders more than one share they will only be charged one delivery fee.

Shares include a mix of seasonable vegetables each week. The season starts off with a variety of greens. We try to provide lettuce or salad mix each week. We try to provide the basics each week as they are ready (carrots, onions, garlic, potatoes, tomatoes, corn). The shares latter in the season will have more produce in them than the earlier weeks.

For the most part, folks that join our CSA do not have the time or space for a garden. A lot, however, do have gardens themselves. They grow what they choose without the pressure.

This year we are teaming up with Kyle Thygesen (Alan Howe's son-in-law). He is offering grass finished beef, pork, chicken, eggs, and certified organic milk. He will be delivering to our farm on Mondays. If you are happy to see one of the most beautiful farms in Tunbridge continue on to the next generation, show your support and email Kyle at fallshill@gmail.com for more information. You can also reach him on his cell 802-369-0267.

If you have any questions, please email Wendy or Jean Palthey or give us a call at 802-889-3565. We ask for a verbal commitment before April 15th, with final payment due by June 7. Preference will be given to previous members first. You can mail us a check or bring the money on the first pick-up day. Make checks payable to Tunbridge Hill Farm.
